Philomena T. Shook (nee Tomasetti), of Levittown, formerly of Langhorne and Lewes, DE, died on Monday, March 29, 2010 at St. Mary Medical Center in Langhorne. She was 88. Born in Newtown, PA, Mrs. Shook was a longtime resident of Langhorne, PA prior to moving to Delaware in 1989. In 2007 she moved to Levittown, PA and resided with her son Dennis and his wife Fran. Mrs. Shook was retired from the Neshaminy School District where she was a secretary. Once she relocated to Delaware, she became a member of St. Edmund Parish in Lewes and was a member of the Lewes Senior Citizens and AARP Chapter 3543. Philomena was the devoted wife of the late Howard C. Shook, Sr., who was the retired chief of the Middletown Township Police Department. She was the loving mother of two sons; Howard C. Shook, Jr. and his wife Renee and Dennis J. Shook and his wife Fran. She will be sadly missed by her grandchildren; Heather (Scott) Crawford, Jennifer (Frank) Frye, Dennis J. (Heather) Shook, Jr., Ashley (Jon) Vigle, Jaime Shook, and Jonathan Shook. Philomena is also survived by five great grandchildren; Reilly Crawford, Sara Crawford, Allison Crawford, Kasey Frye and Frank Frye, Jr. Family and friends are invited to call Monday morning, April 5 from 8:00 until 10:15 AM at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Grace Church, Langhorne. Rite of Commital will follow in Our Lady of Grace Cemetery. There are no evening calling hours at the funeral home.
