Patrick D. FinleyPatrick D. Finley died on Sunday, April 10, 2016 at his home in Morrisville. He was 64.Born in Philadelphia, the son of the late Margaret (Kana) and the late Daniel Finley, Pat was raised in Levittown. He was a 1969 graduate of the former Woodrow Wilson High School and a member of Saint John the Evangelist Parish, Morrisville. He joined Local 592, in August of 1979. In 1992, Pat was appointed on the Board of Directors of Independence Blue Cross, a position he still served on.He was elected General Secretary-Treasurer of the Operative and Plasterers' and Cement Masons' International Association in August, 2004 at the 49th International Convention in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was elected Chairman of the HAMMER in 2007 and was also elected a member of the Metal Trades Department Executive Board, AFL-CIO that same year.In August, 2009, at the 50th International Convention in Las Vegas, Pat was elected General President of the Operative Plasterers' and Cement Masons' International Association. At the AFL-CIO Convention which was held in Pittsburgh, September of 2009, he was elected a member of the AFL-CIO Executive Council. In October, 2009, he was elected a member of the American Income Life Insurance Company's Labor Advisory Board and in April, 2014, Pat was elected as a member of the Bank of Labor Advisory Board. In August, 2014 at the 51st International Convention in Las Vegas, was elected once again to serve as the General President of the Operative Plasterers' and Cement Masons' International AssociationPat was also named Labor Leader of the Year for 2015 by DC Friends of Ireland.He loved to spend time and summers in Margate with his wife, family and friends.Pat was always a friend for life. He will be remembered as the greatest husband, father and grandfather as well as a one of a kind family man. The family would like to thank everyone who have helped us during his illness.Beloved husband of 36 years to Bobbie (Runey), he was the loving father of Shannon Finley and Alicia Fjellman (Carl) and devoted grandfather of Dylan Patrick Finley, who was his best buddy, (and his father, Kevin Dean) and Conrad Patrick Fjellman. He was eagerly expecting his first granddaughter in May.Pat was the brother of Timothy (Regina), Kevin, Danny, Terry (Debbie), Colleen Spears and Suzanne Finley (Dr. Rick Kimmel).He will also be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews; in-laws; and extended family.Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday, from 5:00 until 9:00 pm at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown. Friends may also call again on Friday, from 9:00 until 10:00 am at Saint Michael the Archangel Church, 66 Levittown Parkway, Levittown, where his funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am.
