A fun, funny, smart and generous woman, Michelle was an unfailingly gregarious soul who stopped at nothing to provide for the people that she loved the most. She was born on May 29, 1957, to Rita Amoroso and Rocco Doto, and she spent much of her life in Levittown, never very far from the family she cherished so dearly.
Michelle graduated from Bishop Conwell High School in the 1970s, and soon after, she embarked on an exhausting, varied career that came to evince the depth of her strength, conviction and passion for others. At various points in her life, she built circuit boards for the U.S. military, cooked food for hospital patients and doctors, and served as a manager at a local chain. She often worked these jobs simultaneously — there was, for Michelle, no impasse that could thwart her dedication to her children — before taking a much-deserved early retirement in 2019.
Above all, though, Michelle was an undaunted fighter. She battled through the most trying circumstances to find love, fashion herself a home, raise her children and care for her grandkids, over whom she obsessed deeply. People were her truest sources of joy, along with shouting at the Philadelphia Eagles, cooking pasta over the holidays and watching Hallmark movies long after Christmas ended.
She is survived by her husband, Edward Prem; her children, Tony, Tim and Ashley; her brother, Michael Doto; and her grandchildren, Rosalie, Olivia, Ricky and Michael.
A viewing is scheduled for Sunday, March 3, from 10:00 a.m. to noon at James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, located at 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown, PA 19056, followed by a celebration of her life with family.
