Born on March 14, 1931 in East Gulf, West Virginia to the late James C. and Grace Cook Lovell, Mrs. Atkinson has been a long time resident of Lower Bucks County.
Mary possessed all of the qualities of a true southern belle being a proud and proper lady of society with her irreproachable hospitality.
She was crowned the homecoming queen at Stucco High School where she met her loving husband, Paul Atkinson, the star quarterback and a descendant of the Hatfields and McCoys.
Mary and Paul moved to the suburbs of Philadelphia where they raised their surviving three children.
Beloved wife of the late Paul, Mary is survived by her loving children, Ronald Atkinson (Laura) of Zephyr Hills, FL, Paulette Atkinson-Marks of Levittown, PA and Sandra Atkinson-Ketterer (David) of Levittown, PA.
After raising her children, Mary went on to become a successful antique dealer in the community. She was born with an eye for rare sought after items and spent her later years acquiring them.
Along with her children, Mary is also survived by seven grandchildren, Matthew, Jacob, David CaSandra, Ronald, Darla and Anastasia; as well as eight great grandchildren, Ryan, Matthew, Johnny, Owen, Samuel, John and Elisabeth; sisters, Jeanette Brenton (Oliver) of Jackson, FL and Beverly Smith of Levittown; and a brother, Robert Lovell (Carol) of Michigan.
Services will be held privately at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc. followed by interment at Rosedale Memorial Park, Bensalem.
