Lillian Kennedy Harshaw, of Langhorne was granted her angel wings on January 21, 2015 while vacationing in Virginia. Her final days were spent surrounded by many family members who traveled far and wide to be with her. Lillian was a long-time resident of Bucks County, where she lived and raised her family since leaving her childhood home of Weirton, West Virginia. As matriarch, she taught her family the ways of the Lord by being a strong example. This was truly evident when the hospital Chaplain entered her room and stated, "I can feel the love and the Holy Spirit." Her desire at a young age to become a minister, at a time when females were not allowed, lead her to being very active in her church communities. She served on many committees, and social groups including "Just Singles," and "To Live Again." Lillian was a charter member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Fairless Hills, and an active member of Lutheran Church of God's Love in Newtown. She loved to dance, take family photographs, plan successful fundraisers, write publicity articles, and travel with her children and their spouses. Her faith in, and love of God helped her through difficult times as well as joyful times. She fulfilled her life-long wish of traveling to the Grand Canyon, and Alaska with her family. Beloved wife of the late James Kennedy V, and Jack Harshaw, she was the loving mother of Sandy Anthony, James Kennedy VI (Deborah), Richard Kennedy (Maureen), John Arthur Kennedy (Eileen), and the step-mother of Richard Harshaw, Novelle McFadden, and Diane Kraynak. She was the devoted grandmother of James VII, Brian, Nicole, David, Ian, Gregory, Jake, Jack, Annabelle, Russell, Michael, and the great-grandmother to 16. Family and friends are invited to call on Tuesday from 7 until 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 9 until 10 a.m. at the Lutheran Church of God's Love, 791 Newtown Yardley Rd, Newtown, PA 18940. Her funeral service will be held on Wednesday, 10 a.m. at the church followed by interment at Sunset Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lutheran Church of God's Love Memorial fund at the address above.
