Katlyn Christine Groom

Katlyn Christine Groom died on Monday, May 10, 2010, at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, Philadelphia from injuries sustained in an automobile accident . She was 21. Born in Bristol Township, the daughter of Helen M. (Lempergel) Groom and Richard S. Groom, Kate has been a lifetime Lower Bucks County resident. Kate graduated from Pennsbury High School, Class of 2007 and was a medical assistant student at Sanford Brown University, Bensalem. Katie was truly loved by all who knew her. Loving sister of Matthew J., Gabrielle E. and Richard J. Groom, Katie will also be sadly missed by her maternal grandparents, Marylou and Jack Lempergel of Fairless Hills, her paternal grandparents, Richard and Helen M. Groom of Levittown, her uncles, John Lempergel of Fairless Hills and Donald Groom of Levittown, her aunts, Kathleen Groom of CT, and Andrea Groom, her two cousins, Erica and Kevin Groom all of Trenton, NJ and extended family members. Family and friends are invited to call on Friday, from 6:00 until 9:00 pm at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown. Her funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday, 10:00 am at Saint Joseph the Worker Church, 9172 New Falls Road, Fallsington. Interment will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions in Kate's name be made to the Gift of Life Donor Program, 401 North 3rd Street, Philadelphia, PA 19123-4101.
