Joseph P. Borradaile passed away on Friday, December 14, 2012, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was 85. Joe proudly served in World War II as a paratrooper in the US Army. He supported his family as a truck driver, a career that he loved. He was a retired member of Teamster Local 500. When he wasn't working, he was beautifying the spaces around him with wood, stone, mortar and flowers. He loved taking long drives in the country with Mickie and found great joy in the accomplishments of his children and grandchildren. He was the consummate family man and will be remembered by all who knew him as a patient, diligent, humble and giving soul. Joe was preceded in death by his mother and father, John and Mary (Gillies) Borradaile and his four brothers - John, Robert, Thomas, and Francis. Left to cherish his memory are his devoted wife of 63 years, Michelina (Iannacone) Borradaile, his children - Michael Borradaile (Janet), Richard Borradaile (Karen), JoAnne Mansueto (Dan), and Patricia Offner (Bruce). He will be forever adored by his grandchildren - Christopher Mansueto, Andrea Birnbaum (Jared), Mark Mansueto, Danielle Kerins (Sean), Kristin Cohen (Jeff), Stephanie Mansueto, Michael Borradaile (Nikki), Joseph Offner, Elizabeth Offner and his great grandchildren, Patrick Birnbaum and Lily Cohen. Joe is also survived by his sister Mary Scott, his sisters-in-law Alice Borradaile, Susan Piazza and Rosemary Schlauch (Nicholas) and many nieces and nephews. Friends and family are invited to pay their respects to the family on Wednesday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Rd., Levittown. Interment will be private. The Borradaile family would like to extend their appreciation to the Holy Redeemer Hospice staff who provided Joe with the utmost care and compassion in his final few months. In life, Joe quietly gave to those in need; his family encourages you to do the same, not in his name, but in his spirit of giving.
