John A. "Jack" Sands of Langhorne died on Friday, April 22, 2016 at his home. He was 83.Mr. Sands was born and raised in Yardley and resided in Fairless Hills for many years. He graduated from Pennsbury High School in 1952. He has resided in Langhorne since 1991.He worked as a Lab Technician for U.S. Steel in the Sheet and Tin Division for 44 years until retiring in 1996. Over the course of the past 30 years he also worked as a maintenance technician for Burger King at various locations. In addition to these positions, Jack also owned and operated Washington Crossing Exxon in Titusville, NJ and the former Sands Video Productions.Jack had a life long passion for softball and was active in a 75 and older league. He was also a fan of all Philadelphia sports teams.Mr. Sands was the beloved husband of Janet Stinson Sands for 26 years.He was the loving father of Sharon Arch (Wayne) of Fairless Hills, Michelle Gilardi (Rod) of Levittown, Marc Sands (Lisa) of Fallsington and Megan Szul (Mark) of Chesterfield, NJHe will also be missed by his stepchildren Janet Ott-Maurer (fiancé Giovanni Diaz) and Dawn Ott-Kubis both of Bristol and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.He was the brother of Dorothy Lott (the late Robert) of Levittown, Margie Alspach (Phil) of St. Petersburg, FL, and the late Robert (surviving wife Eleanor) and William Jr. (surviving wife Charlotte). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews,Family and friends may call from 10 a.m. until 12 noon on Friday at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Rd., Levittown where his memorial service will be held at 12 noon.
