Jerome W. Gilbert, Sr.

Jerome W. Gilbert, Sr. Jerome W. "Jerry" Gilbert, Sr. passed on Sunday, July 10, 2016 at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. He was 79. Born in Trenton, NJ, Mr. Gilbert was a graduate of Trenton State College. He was a veteran of the US Air Force and had a long successful career in Information Systems Management. Jerry was an avid hiker, outdoorsman, loved to travel and was a passionate football fan. Loving partner of over 40 years to Linda Hibbs-Gilbert, Jerry was the loving father of Lorraine B. Maher (John Andrews) and Jerome W. Gilbert, Jr. He was the devoted grandfather of Samantha R., Téa N. and Tyler C. Gilbert; brother of Clarence J. Gilbert, Jr. (Helen) and stepbrother of Gerard Verrelli, Jr. Jerry will be sadly missed by numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members. He was predeceased by his parents, Clarence J. Gilbert (Myrtle) and Julia (Farfalla) Verrelli (Gerard Sr.) and his siblings, Joan Gronikowski, Henry Gilbert and Catherine Hall. Family and friends are invited to call on Friday, from 12:00 pm until 1:00 pm at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown, where his memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm. Interment will be held privately.
