George "PECO" DrydenGeorge J. Dryden died at his home, surrounded by his loving family, on Saturday, November 25, 2017.Born in Philadelphia, a graduate of North Catholic High School, George has been a longtime Lower Bucks County resident.He was a proud US Army veteran.George spent his career working at PECO Energy. After his retirement he also worked part time at Staley Corporation and most recently at Begley, Carlin and Mandio as a Courier.He was an avid Philadelphia Sports fan, especially of the Phillies and Eagles and also of Notre Dame.George spent most of his free time at the softball fields, golfing with his buddies and meeting friends on Saturday for breakfast.Beloved husband of Dorothy "Dottie" (Nicely), George is the loving father of Lisa Dryden (Jim), Melanie Bidlingmaier (Keith), Tommy McCoy (Dannielle) and Jennifer Haney (John). He is the devoted grandfather of Shannon, Taylor, Morgan, Riley, Madi, Ian and Adalynn.He will also be sadly missed by numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.George is predeceased by his parents, Caleb and Leona, and brothers, Jerry, Jack and Eddie.Family and friends are invited to call on Sunday, December 3, 2017, from 2:00 until 4:00 pm at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown. Friends may call again on Monday, December 4, 2017, from 8:30 until 9:30 am at Saint Frances Cabrini Church, 325 S. Oxford Valley Road, Fairless Hills, where his funeral mass will be celebrated at 9:30 am. The Rite of Committal will follow in Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in George's memory may be made to the charity of donor's choice.
