Francis C. Messina Sr.

Born and raised in Philadelphia, he is the son of the late Anna (Stout) and Frank Messina.

He met the love of his life, Barbara, at a friend's wedding. They married in 1976 and raised their family in Philadelphia, moving to Bucks County only 3 years ago.

He was a very proficient scuba diver in his younger years and was a proud member of the Eastern Divers Association. He loved the beach, the ocean, boating, fishing - absolutely anything to do with water.

He was also a 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus.

Mr. Messina enjoyed visiting the casino a couple of times a year with Barbara. He also enjoyed golfing, bowling, and shooting at the rifle range.

You could often catch Frank sitting at the bar at the Golden Nugget or hanging out with his friends.

He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Spending time with family was his life's greatest joy.

Beloved husband of 46 to years to Barbara A. (Grabowski); Mr. Messina is the loving father of Lisa Dermody (Rob), Karen Crossen (Kevin) and Francis Messina Jr. (Jenn); and devoted grandfather of Gavin, Evan and Calvin Dermody, Rachel Crossen and Leah and Miles Messina.

He leaves behind 4 siblings, Annette Ramsey (Robert), Ralph Messina (Julie), Tom Messina (Donna) and Joan Rosenblatt (Ed).

Frank was predeceased by his parents and his brother, Wayne Messina.

Family and friends are invited to call on Monday, August 22, 2022 from 5:00 until 7:00 pm at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown. Friends may call again on Tuesday, August 23, 2022 from 10:00 until 11:00 am at Queen of the Universe Church, 2443 Trenton Road, Levittown, where his funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am. The Rite of Committal will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Bensalem.
