Elizabeth Russell

Elizabeth Russell Elizabeth (Betty) O'Rourke Russell, 83, of Levittown, was joyfully reunited with the Lord on July 25, 2015. Betty was born in Chapelhall, Scotland and was preceded in death by her parents, Margaret and John O'Rourke; siblings, Ellen (Emil) Hanes, Margaret (Thomas) Lucuski, Norman O'Rourke; and grandson, William Irvine. Betty leaves behind Bill, her loving husband of 61 years; devoted children: John (Deborah) Russell, Margaret (Bill) Marino, Helen (Kyle) Irvine, and Donna- Sister Marise Therese (Missionaries of Charity); 11 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson, brother John (Alice) O'Rourke; Sister-in-law Josephine O'Rourke; and many extended family members who adored her. Betty embodied what it meant to be a faithful servant of the Lord. She was a treasured member of her church and community She compassionately ran Mother Teresa's Mission, the place where those in need knew they would be helped. She was honored as the Grand Marshall of the 2006 St. Patrick's Day Parade and with her magnetic personality was loved by all. She made the world a better place. Betty dedicated her life to her family, She had friends from all walks of life and once you knew her you would never forget her. Family and friends are invited to share the joy of Betty's life Wednesday, July 29, from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, July 30, 9:30 am at St. Frances Cabrini Church, 325 S. Oxford Valley Road, Fairless Hills. Internment services will be private.
