Dom was a devoted husband to Shirley for 55 years. They met at the skating rink as teenagers, holding hands for couple's skate. They continued to hold hands through the years even if it was just going to the grocery store. They made a life together with lots of love. They raised four beautiful girls. They instilled all the values of being a good person: respect, kindness and lending a helping hand. Then the grandchildren came. The sparkle in his eyes was evident, watching them grow, always happy to hear about their next adventure.
Dom provided for his family with his hands. He was a master carpenter and took pride in his work. He could do and fix anything. Dom passed on his knowledge of the trade to many proudly.
Retiring didn't slow him down. He restored his very first car, made improvements to the house, even tried his hand in gardening. All with the help of friends and family. He would take walks at the park with Shirley on a beautiful day along with their dog, Lady. He would pop in on friends and family just to say hello.
Dom was a quiet person with a big impact. He was respected by all that knew him. His genuine smile and acts of kindness were felt by those who didn't even know him. He will be forever in our hearts and greatly missed.
Dom is survived by his loving wife, Shirley (Litten) DeMarchis; his daughters, Denise Arnott (Robert), Donna Calderbank, Sherry Aspromonti and Stephanie Hoffman; his grandchildren, Dominick DeMarchis, Eric Arnott, Nate DeMarchis, Nicole Aspromonti, Mason and Myles Calderbank; his brother, Jerome DeMarchis (Rose); and his sister, Elizabeth Donaghy.
He was predeceased by his parents, Frances (Langton) and Dominick DeMarchis Sr.
