Brian was born on March 19th, 1957 in Oceanside, NY to Louis Pierre Loutrel Jr. and Elizabeth Anne Klowas. As a child, he lived with his father and moved around the country often, before settling in Pennsylvania. He attended Pennsbury High School from 1971-1975, where he played as a goalie on the school’s ice hockey team. After graduating from high school, he moved to Fort Lauderdale, FL, to be closer to his mother and stepfather. There, in the spring of 1977, he met the love of his life, Annette M. Manzo, and the two attended Barry University together in Miami, FL. Brian started as an art major, before obtaining a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Barry University in May 1982. On May 28th 1983, he married Annette in St. Robert Bellarmine Church in Bayside, NY. Together with his wife, and their three children, he was a long time resident of Fairless Hills, PA.
He had a long career at New York Life Insurance Co., New York, NY starting in June of 1982 until his retirement in October 2018. During his last fifteen years at New York Life, he was a Vice President of regulatory compliance and held many titles, including Chief Privacy Office, Chief Ethics Officer, and Anti-Money Laundering Compliance Officer. He was highly regarded as an insurance industry subject matter expert and speaker.
After his retirement, he moved with his wife to the Mountain Lakes District in Woodsville, NH to be closer to his grandchildren. His hobbies included model ship building, ice hockey, politics, sitting on the beach while enjoying the sunshine, and spending time with his grandchildren. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, working tirelessly to provide for and care for his family.
He is survived by his loving wife of forty years Annette; three sons, Louis and his wife Jennifer King, Nicholas, and Andrew; three grandchildren Jaxon, Madison, and Molly; and Annette’s siblings and their families, who treated him as one of their own.
Funeral and memorial services will be held in his hometown, Fairless Hills, PA.
A viewing will be held on January 18th, 2024 from 1-3pm and 6-9pm at James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown PA 19056.
A second viewing will take place at the church on Friday, January 19, 2024 from 8:30am to 9:30am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30am at Saint Francis Cabrini, 325 S Oxford Valley Road, Fairless Hills, PA 19030.
A celebration of life will be held in the summer of 2024 in Mountain Lakes in Woodsville, NH.
