Barbara Jane Ireland (nee Denning), age 89, passed away on Friday, December 6, 2024. She was a long time resident of Levittown, PA.
Barbara was born in Philadelphia, PA, to parents Jane and Ernest Denning. She was a homemaker until her children were grown then worked part-time as a Neshaminy Lunch Aide. Later she was employed full time by Microtronics in Newtown, PA, until she left to help care for her grandchildren.
Barbara was a long time member of Queen of the Universe Church. She found her passion for Irish dancing through Rosemarie Timoney and later founded the Ireland Irish Dancers with her husband Tom. They participated in St. Patrick's Day Parades and danced at many local venues. They made true lifetime friends and memories that will be cherished by all.
Barbara was a devoted Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother (Gigi). She never missed a single sporting event that her children participated in and was happiest to attend her Grandchildren's events when she could. She loved spending time with family and friends.
Barbara is survived by her deeply devoted husband of 69 years, Thomas (Tom), her children Thomas Ireland Jr. (Patricia), Patricia Fox (Alfred), Richard Ireland (Paula), Christopher Ireland (Margarita) and Carol Moore (Carl). In addition to 12 Grandchildren, 7 Great Grandchildren and many Nieces and Nephews.
A visitation for Barbara will be held Tuesday, December 17, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Queen of the Universe, 2443 Trenton Road, Levittown, Pennsylvania 19056, followed by a memorial mass at 11:00 AM.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in memory of Barbara to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
