Born and raised in South Philadelphia, Mrs. Barrett was a 1968 graduate of South Philadelphia High School.
A long time resident of the Academy Gardens section of Northeast Philadelphia, she moved to the Bensalem area in 2014.
Anna worked various jobs at the Philadelphia Navy Yard and as a tax examiner with the IRS. After her retirement in 2010, she went on to work at Valley Elementary School and Rush Elementary School in the Bensalem School Township as a lunch room aide, a job she truly loved.
She enjoyed spending summers at the family shore house. She loved having fun and socializing.
Mrs. Barrett is survived by her devoted husband, Joseph P. Barrett; her loving daughter, Sandra Barrett; and her cherished granddaughter, Danielle Barrett.
She will also be sadly missed by her dear sister, Loretta Mooney (Simeon Hahn) and niece, Adrianna.
Anna was predeceased by her parents, Dante Ciarlante and Helen DeGiuseppe; brother, Danny Ciarlante; and sister, Sandra Ciarlante.
Family and friends are invited to call on Wednesday, August 9, 2023, from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown. Friends may also call on Thursday, August 10, 2023, from 10:00 until 11:00 am at Saint Ephrem Church, 5400 Hulmeville Road, Bensalem, where her funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am. Interment will be held privately.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her name may be made to Fox Chase Cancer Center, 333 Cottman Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19111.
