Peggy Jean Montgomery

Peggy Jean Montgomery, age 75 of Levelland, died peacefully on Wednesday, November 05, 2014 surrounded by her loving family. Peggy was born on July 23, 1939 in Cottle County, Texas to the late John and Dorothy (Conway) Martin. She grew up on the family farm with her parents Jack and Dorothy Isbell and was the proud big sister to her brothers, Tommy and Wendell, and sister Velda. She graduated from Paducah High School in 1958; where her passion for Home Economics and her association with FHA began a life-long love for cooking, gardening an spending time with her family and close friends.

Peggy married Robert Montgomery in Cee Vee, Texas on 10/21/1966. Although they never had children, Peggy cared for all the children in her life as though they were her own.

Peggy enjoyed her communications career with General Telephone Company as a telephone operator, working in both Paducah and Littlefield, TX.

Peggy is preceded in death by parents John Martin, John (Jack) and Dorothy Isbell, and her brother Tommy Isbell.

She is survived by her sister Velda (Phil) Coley, Levelland, TX; brother, Wendell (Janie) Isbell, Ulysses, KS; sister-in-law Donna K. Isbell, Childress, TX; nieces, Crystal Alberts, Sara Coley, Cassie Conde, Mendy Isbell, Heather Doyle, Holly Beth Petty, Dolly K. Isbell and Laura McQuatters; nephews Roy Blount, Cody Blount, Thomas Blount, Brent Isbell, Jay Isbell, Clint Coley and Orlando Perez; Aunts Bobbie Grisham, Bradford, IL, Willa (Bill) Isbell, Paducah, TX and Linda (James) Isbell, Ralls, TX; also numerous cousins, friends and her extended family at Levelland Nursing Home that provided the most tender loving care imaginable.

Funeral services will be Saturday, November 08, 2014 at 10AM with visitation one hour prior at the George Price Funeral Home Chapel. Graveside services will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery, Paducah, Texas at 3:30PM.
