Arlene Virginia Jesse Brown

Funeral services for Arlene Brown, 79, of Levelland will be at 2:00 pm, Thursday, September 29, 2011 in George Price Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Jesse Sanders of Levelland, officiating. Burial will follow in City of Levelland Cemetery, under the direction of George Price Funeral Home, Levelland, Texas. She died Monday, September 26, 2011 in Lubbock, Texas.

Born on November 22, 1931 in Humboldt, Kansas to Ernest Albert and Loretta Della (Howell) Jesse, she spent most of her life in Colorado, Iowa, Kansas and Missouri. She married Glen Brown on May 25, 1958 in Davis City, Iowa.

They lived in Missouri until August of this year when they moved to Levelland. She worked for many years for Rawlings Sporting Goods as a seamstress and retired in 1985. She was a member of the Plato Chapter No. 240, Order of the Eastern Star, Plato, Missouri, and had been attending Levelland Chapter #797, Order of the Eastern Star, Levelland, Texas.

Survivors include her husband, Glen Brown of Levelland, Texas, two sons: Dale Brown and his wife, Jeanie of Levelland, Texas; and Dean Brown and his wife, Holly of Rockaway Beach, Missouri and four grandchildren, Gretchen, William, Braxton and Nolan, several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister: Shirley Mae, one brother: Carl Leland and her step mother: Helen Bordine; and her special friend, Helen Morrow.
