Mrs. Featherstone was born March 7, 1922 in Wilkes County to the late Rev. Gordon Ferguson and Nora Williams Ferguson. For 40 years she was a resident of Baltimore, Maryland, working for Mr. and Mrs. Dr. Albert Pats helping to raise their three children. She returned to Lenoir in 2006 where she remained until her passing. Mrs. Featherstone was of the Pentecostal Holiness faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John D. Featherstone; brothers, Enoch Ferguson, Sam Ferguson, and Clyde Robert “Pop” Ferguson; and sisters, Ruth Ferguson, Louise Ferguson, and Mary Ferguson Banner.
She is survived by special nieces, Elaine Setzer Maxwell, who was her caregiver, and Linda Lockhart, both of Lenoir; nephews, Clyde Ferguson Jr., Norman Banner, Roger Banner, Percy Ferguson, nieces, Nora Horton , Janice White, and a host of great-nieces and great-nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 21, 2021 at Pendry’s Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Keith Banner officiating.
