Wayne Neil Decker

Mr. Wayne Neil Decker, 77, of Lenoir passed away on Friday, January 28, 2022. Mr. Decker was born September 11, 1944 in Caldwell County to the late Marvin Allen and Lena Maltba Decker. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Benny Decker and a sister, Catherine Land.

Mr. Decker was a member of Clarks Chapel Baptist Church and he worked for Lenoir Mirror for 40 years. Wayne was a kind generous man who loved to help others. He was a dedicated husband, father and grandfather who loved his family with all his heart.

Those left to cherish his memory include his beloved wife of 52 years, Linda Oaks Decker of the home, daughters: Amy Bolick and husband Doug of Lenoir, Misty Scovern and husband Todd of Granite Falls, grandchildren: Davey Bolick and Chandler Scovern, brothers: Baxter, Ronnie, Jerry and Daryl Decker, all of Lenoir and a sister, Sylvia Decker of Lenoir.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, February 4, 2022 at 2:00 pm at Clarks Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Dale Payne and Rev. Rick Bowman officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Todd Scovern, Chandler Scovern, Doug Bolick, Bob O’Hare, Cliff Brown, Nathaniel Blache, and Misty Scovern.
