Roger Nelson Allen, Sr., age 81, of Lenoir passed away on Sunday, December 8, 2024, at UNC Blue Ridge Hospital surrounded by family. He was born in Caldwell County on April 17, 1943, to the late Albert and Letha Allen.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters Barbara and Alberta, his brother Larry, and his daughter-in-law Lori.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 51 years Vonnie Lowman Allen, his children Roger, Wesley, Shawn (wife Brandy), and James, his grandchildren Mia, Daniel, Davidson, Matthew, and Tucker, and his sister Brenda.
Roger proudly served in the US Army from 1961 - 1964. He will be deeply missed by his family and best friend, his dog Bandit.
In consideration for Roger's wishes, no services are being planned.
