In addition to her parents, Marie was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Blaine Barlow as well as her son, Steven Barlow, her brothers Walter and Dexter Wilson and her sisters, Sue Cardoza and Shirley Anderson.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter Judy (Jim) Seckel, her son Wayne (Natalie) Barlow, her granddaughter Kristen (Carson) Cook, and several nieces and nephews.
Marie was a devoted wife and mother. She spent many years on the mission field serving our Lord. Marie always preferred the simple life, and was humble and loving to everyone she met. She was raised during the depression and learned to value the little things most of us might take for granted.
Marie volunteered in many capacities until her health no longer allowed. She loved children and often stopped to smile and laugh with toddlers whenever she passed them. Some of Marie's favorite times were spent teaching Sunday School and VBS to little ones while on the mission field in Peru and Mexico. She lived out her faith and had the most loving, forgiving spirit. She loved her family unconditionally and was the best example of a loving mother to her kids.
Marie trusted completely in her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ until the day He called her home.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM on Saturday, November 23rd, 2024, in the chapel at Pendry's Lenoir Funeral Home, 522 Wilkesboro Blvd, Lenoir, NC.
A private burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Park.
Pendry's Lenoir Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Marie Annetta Barlow.
