For some reason I thought of Kenneth Birdsong this morning and the time we spent together in Vietnam. We were both at Con Thien  on the DMZ surrounded by thousands of enemy troops. It was really awful. Several of us are pictured  in Life magazine Oct. 27th 1967. None of us were named with the exception of Ken. If I remember correctly he gave the photographer a carton of milk. We were in charge of the LZ. I was the radio man. The only way on or off the hill was by helicopter. The landing zone was the bullseye for the enemy. They pounded us constantly. I remember him as a good guy. I even remember that he was from Boone NC.  I tried  to locate him when I was on vacation in Boone.

My prayers and thoughts are with Sheldon and all the Birdsong family during this time. May God’s comfort surround you during your time of need.
