Geraldine Beck Johnson

Mrs. Johnson was born in Watauga County to the late Sidney R. Beck and LaVada Fox Beck Lunsford. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Ray Johnson; her brothers, Henry and Frank Beck; her sister, Pauline Sluder and a great grandson, Joshua Andrew Self.

She was a member of Indian Hills Baptist Church.

Survivors include her daughters, Linda Susan Norris and fiance’ Curtis Ray Prince, Jr. and Elizabeth “Sissy” McCoy Peters and husband Mickey, both of Lenoir; a sister Brenda Hodges McCann of Hickory; two grandchildren, Amber Yocke and Jeffrey Charles Self and numerous nieces and nephews

A funeral service will be held Friday, November 26, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in Pendry’s Chapel with Reverend Jerry Reeves and Reverend Tony Land officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. The family will also receive friends at the home of Mrs. Johnson open hours.

Serving as pallbearers will SSGT Yocke, Nile J., Jeffrey Charles Self, Jeffrey King Self, Jim Johnson, Robert Kent Sluder and Randall Thomas McCoy.

The family requests that memorials be made to Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care, 902 Kirkwood Street, Lenoir, NC 28645.
