Asheville. Mr. Land was born June 3, 1949 in Caldwell County to the late Willard Conley and Winnie Estelle Edmiston Land. In addition to his parents, a brother, Willard Eugene Land, a sister-in-law, Patty Land and a brother–in-law, Steve Miller preceded him in death.
Mr. Land was of the Baptist faith and was a member of Little Rock Baptist Church. He was a loving and dedicated husband father and grandfather. Dennis was a truck driver and drove for Caldwell Freight Lines for many years. He loved the outdoors and was known to his many truck driver friends as “Boomerang”.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, JoAnn Frizsell Land of the home, a son, Brian Dennis Land of Lenoir, a daughter, Angela Land Combs and husband Laramie of Sugar Grove, two sisters, Sheila Stidham and husband Bill of Catawba and Sylvia Miller of Lenoir.
Also left to cherish his memory are his beloved grandchildren, Gage Land of Lenoir, Aubrie Land of Granite Falls, Natalie Combs of Sugar Grove and Henry Combs of Sugar Grove, numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members and his faithful companion, his Yorkie, Gizmo.
A Celebration of Life to honor Mr. Land will be held on Saturday, October 8, 2022 at 3:00 pm in the chapel of Pendry’s Lenoir Funeral Home with Rev. Doug Price officiating. A private burial service led by the family will occur at a later time.
The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service, from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm at Pendry’s Funeral Home.
The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to Amorem Hospice and ask that memorials be made to Amorem at 902 Kirkwood Street, Lenoir, NC 28645 in honor of Dennis in lieu of flowers.
