Charles Hoyt Reid

Mr. Reid was born in Caldwell County to the late John Robert Reid and Bertha Jane Austin Reid. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Eva Elizabeth Johnson Reid; his brothers Graham, Paul, Don and Harold Reid and a sister Edna Cooke.

He was retired from the U. S. Air Force with 21 years of service and retired from Bush Olds. He was a member of Union Baptist Church of Lenoir where he served as a Deacon for many years.

Survivors include his daughters Marion Hansard and husband Teddy of Gladewater, Texas and Kay Reid Soirez of Lenoir; four grandchildren, Jean Bonham and husband Michael, Revonda Curtis McClure and husband Butch, Lisa Sinclaire and husband Michael and Tonya Michelle Bowman and husband Paul; ten great grandchildren, Dylan, A. J., Tyler, Kayla, Michael, Mary Ruth, Jordan, Kyle, Chole and Mary Jane.

Services will be held Thursday, July 28, 2011 at Union Baptist Church at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Myron Davis officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
