Capitola Elizabeth Watson

Capitola Elizabeth Barnett Watson, age 92, of Lenoir, North Carolina passed away on Monday, February 12, 2024 at Caldwell UNC Healthcare. Mrs. Watson was born on July 20, 1931 in Caldwell County, North Carolina to the late Foy Barnett and Pansy McGee Barnett.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 63 years, Kenneth Greer Watson, a brother, Raymond Ishmael Barnett and a sister, Josephine Shuford.

Those left to cherish her memory include a host of nieces and nephews and her Calvary Baptist Church family, of which she had been a member since December of 1956.

A Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, February 18, 2024 at 2:00 at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Alan Carr officiating. Burial will follow the service at Blue Ridge Memorial Park in Lenoir.

The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00 pm until 1:45 pm.

The family of Ms. Watson would like to express their deepest appreciation to Karen Nelson, a compassionate caregiver and precious friend, her husband, Kenny Nelson, to Larry and Susan Icenhour for their love and help in so many ways and to Bobby and Adene James for their many acts of kindness.
