Anna Avery Davenport, age 73, of Lenoir, North Carolina passed away on Friday, July 19, 2024 at AMOREM in Hudson, NC. Anna was born September 11, 1950 in Burke County to the late James and Mary Avery. In addition to her parents, Anna is preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Davenport, her son, Rusty Ferguson, brothers, James (Slick) Avery and Vernon (Tack) Avery.
Anna graduated from Glen Alpine High School and went on to study psychology. She spent the majority of her life doing private, duty providing care for the elderly. She was an avid couponer and loved finding deals to share with her family and friends. Anna loved gardening and took pride in her beautiful flowers. She loved her family and friends and enjoyed spending as much time as she could with them.
Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Brian (Kelly) Ferguson of Lenoir, daughter, Christy Wallace (Michael) of Lenoir, daughter, Nichole Davenport (Jasmine) of Lenoir, sisters, Rosa Rutherford of Morganton, Fannie Ervin of Morganton, sister, Vanessa Johnson (Bobby) of Morganton, Deborah Tate of Drexel, Mary Alice Frances of Morganton, Melody Avery of Morganton, grandchildren, Artavius Robinson of Guam, Anontai Wallace of Rock Hill, Jykiri Wallace (Aaliyah) of Lenoir, Saidea Davenport of Fayetteville, Nikogi Clifton (Gavin) of Missouri, Nicovian Davenport of Lenoir, Drexton Banner of Lenoir and Kelis Greene of Charlotte, three great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
A homegoing celebration will be held for Mrs. Davenport of Friday, July 26, 2024 at 3:00 pm in the chapel of Pendry's Lenoir Funeral Home with Pastor Daris Curry officiating. Burial will follow the service at Blue Ridge Memorial Park in Lenoir.
The family will receive friends for 30 minutes prior to the service, from 2:15 pm until 2:45 pm at Pendry's Lenoir Funeral Home
