San Diego- Dorothea passed away July 8, 2015 at Sharp Memorial Hospital. She was born in Grand Forks, North Dakota to Albert and Clarine Lund. She graduated from Concordia College in Moorhead, MN as well as the Fairview Hospital School of Nursing in Minneapolis, MN. She spent time working in Baltimore, MD in public health and then moved to San Diego to work at the Scripps Clinic in La Jolla. She ended her career after working at the Lemon Grove Medical Group for many years. She married Howard Swanstrom in 1952, who proceeded her in death along with her brother Hilmen. She was blessed with a son Mark, and her family then moved to Lemon Grove, where she resided until her passing. She is survived by her son Mark (Lynn) of Spring Valley, her grandsons Matthew (Anmarie) Blake (Gretchen) and Luke (Melyssa). She also has five great-grandchildren: Kaiya, Lauren Lou, Reid, Colton and Weston. She loved and cared for her family so deeply and cherished the time and traditions she shared with them throughout the years. Her family will greatly miss her undying devotion, love and guidance. She was a giving, compassionate and caring woman with a sense of responsibility to her church, Lemon Grove Lutheran, and her fellow parishioners for many years. She spent her life doing for others and supporting their spiritual and physical well-beings. Dorothea was an inspiration to everyone who knew her and the selfless way she lived her life exemplified her core beliefs. Memorial services will be held on July 11, 2015 at 11:00 at Lemon Grove Lutheran Church.
