Celebration of Life services for Mrs. Elaine Morrison Kennedy, 66, will be held Sunday, October 7, 2012, 10:00 a.m., in the sanctuary of Oak Grove Congregational Methodist Church, Evans, Louisiana, with Bro. Melvin Smith and Uncle-Bro. George Jeane officiating under the direction of Hixson Funeral Home, Leesville, Louisiana. Interment will immediately follow in the Plunkaway Cemetery, Burr Ferry, Louisiana.
The family would like to welcome family and friends for visitation on Saturday, October 6, 2012, beginning at 6:00 p.m. until service time on Sunday, October 7, 2012 at Oak Grove Congregational Methodist Church, Evans, Louisiana.
Mrs. Kennedy was born May 15, 1946, in Vernon Parish, Louisiana to the late Herman Travis and Artie Laura-Bell Shankle Morrison and was called home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on October 5, 2012, in Evans, Louisiana surrounded by family. She was a member of Oak Grove Congregation Methodist Church, Evans, Louisiana, and was a devout Christian. Mrs. Kennedy worked for Evans High School for twenty-one years, Vernon Bank as a Teller and was very active in her church. She loved to spend time with her children and her grandchildren as she felt they were the lights of her life. Mrs. Kennedy will be thought of often, for she has touched so many lives.
Mrs. Kennedy was preceded in death by her parents. Left to cherish Elaine’s precious memories will be her beloved husband; Arnold Kennedy, two sons; Bryan Arnold and wife Janna and Andy Travis Kennedy, three daughters; Tammy Renell Kennedy, Kristi Kennedy Leger and husband Patrick and Amanda Elaine Patterson and husband Jody, one sister; Mary Francis Paschall and husband Dave, six wonderful grandchildren; Brett Miller, Laura Leger, Austin Leger, Ryan Rougeou, Brooke Patterson, and King Henry Kennedy, Perry Odom and Rob Paschall, among many extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.
Honoring Mrs. Kennedy as pallbearers will be Chuck Kennedy, Allen Kennedy, Jerrod Mitcham, William Mitcham, Perry Odom, and Mark Wittenhagen. Honorary pallbearer will be “Bubba” Darian Austin.
