William D. Harkins

William "Doyle" Harkins of Leeds, Alabama born on August 17, 1944 and passed away on December 23, 2024. He passed away surrounded by his loving family. He is preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Fannie Harkins, sister, Alice Hodges. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Barbara Pody Harkins, son, David Harkins; grandchildren, Jordan Harkins (Alexis), Aleah Harkins, and Jonathan Harkins (Emma); great-grandchildren, Eevee Griffin, Bentley Engstrom, Annabelle Harkins, and Aiden Harkins; sister, Brenda Saxon (Bobby); sister-in-law, Deneise Pody and beloved dog Ranger Jo Harkins. Doyle was a loving son, brother, father, grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, uncle and friend. Doyle grew up in Goodwater, Alabama and served in the Army National Guard. He loved his family and enjoyed helping coach his son's football and baseball teams. He was an avid Alabama Football Fan. He enjoyed camping, fishing, traveling and oldies music. A visitation will be held on Friday December 27, 2024 from 12:00-1:00PM from the Chapel of Kilgroe Funeral Home in Leeds, Alabama with a Graveside service to follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery.
