Sadie B. Shaw

Sadie Shaw, 95, passed peacefully from this world on January 15th at her home. She was a beloved mother and grandmother. She shouldered great responsibility at a very early age when her mom passed away leaving her to care for her father and brothers. Her house later became the main gathering place for her family as well as anyone else who gathered to enjoy her wonderful cooking. Her wisdom and quick wit will be missed. She is preceded in death by her parents, Erwin Brasher and Beretia Bass Brasher, her husband L.P. Shaw, and her brothers Norman, Arvel, Louie, and Coy Brasher. She is survived by her brother, Roy Brasher, daughter Janice Camper (Barry), and her sons Jerry Shaw (Vicki) and Byron Shaw (Candy). She is also survived by grandchildren Angela Cochran (Todd), Brandon Shaw (Selena), Jonathan Shaw (Hannah), Jeremy Shaw (Katelyn), Jacob Shaw, and Max Shaw; great-grandchildren Ryan Newton, Ashlyn Newton, Tristen Hilburn, Olivia Shaw, Darcy Shaw, Liam Shaw, Theodore Shaw, Wren Shaw, Emma Shaw, Arietta Shaw, and Bodhi Shaw, as well as great grandchildren Carson Newton, Makenna Newton, and Hollis Brewer. The family would like to express a special thanks to Ann Snedecor, her caretaker and friend, and hospice for their care over the last few years. Visitation will be held Friday, January 20th at Kilgroe Funeral Home at 1:00-2:30 followed by a graveside service at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Vandiver, Alabama.
