Patricia Barnes

Patsy Barnes, age 82 of Leeds, born March 4, 1939, peacefully passed into heaven on Tuesday, October 19, 2021. She was preceeded in death by Lee Barnes Sr., her husband of 58 years, and is survived by children Lee Barnes (Simone) and Laura Barnes (Jeremy), her two grandchildren Ford and Margo, along with much loved nieces Mary Anna, Elizabeth and Katherine and a host of family and friends. Patsy’s life revolved around her faith and her family including, most importantly, her two grandchildren whom she dearly loved. Patsy was a longtime member of Leeds First United Methodist Church where she had many cherished friends. While a very private person, she was always there to fill a need. Whether it was to give a lift home after practice to her children’s friends or baking a chocolate pie for a sick friend or helping with Vacation Bible School, she truly cared about others and was always willing to lend a helping hand. Patsy will be greatly missed because of her many acts of kindness.

Graveside services will be held at the Hamilton Memory Gardens, 480 County Highway 25, Hamilton, AL 35570 on Thursday October 21, 2021, at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Leeds High School Band, 1500 Greenwave Drive, Leeds, AL 35094.
