Jesika Lin Kitchens, age 14, of Moody, Alabama passed away on Thursday, October 27, 2022 at home after a brief illness. Visitation will be Tuesday, Nov. 1 at 6 p.m. at Kilgroe Funeral Home in Leeds, Alabama. Services will be at Kilgroe Funeral Home from the Chapel on Wednesday, Nov. 2 at 11 a.m. with burial following in Forest Crest Cemetery. She leaves behind her beloved parents, Brittani and Sean Mullen. She also leaves behind great grandparents Jo Bishop and Carol McWhorter and grandparents Jimmy Kitchens and Kay Zarzour, Kellie and Andy Schwendner, John and Theresia Mullen, and Darrell and Missy Lawley, and one sibling Gauge Roberts. Jesika was a student at Moody Junior High, she loved her school friends and teachers. Jesika loved bowling, swimming, archery, basketball and playing video games. She also loved traveling, playing with her cats and dogs and watching superhero movies with her family. She loved watching football with her dad and shopping with her mom. She had a little girl's fascination for unicorns and sparkling rainbows, among other things. Jesika was a proud member of the deaf community. She loved and related to all people and made friends easily. If someone seemed a trifle down Jesika took it as her mission to make them smile. So, don't cry for Jesika today. She'd rather see you smile.
