Kristie was born on December 29, 1976, to Lonnie and Lorie Hoffman and was lovingly referred to as the second angel of the soon-to-be three Hoffman angels.
In 1999, Kristie married her high school sweetheart, Brett Burgess and they started a life together filled with memories and love. From this love, came their children, Dawson and Brooklynne. Kristie adored her children and was their biggest cheerleader and supporter in everything that they did. The immense pride and unconditional love that Kristie had for Dawson and Brooklynne will always live on inside them.
From a young age, Kristie loved summers spent at the family lot on Garner Lake. Even until now, she could always be found soaking up the sun, either on land or on the water, with music blaring and a smile on her face. Once the sun finally went down, Kristie would plant herself in front of the campfire where she kept the company, music, and warmth from the flames going all night.
She was filled with fun and energy and was always up for anything. Nobody could get a game (of any sort) going like Kristie and she had a way of naturally drawing everyone in to join the fun. Kristie had the most beautiful heart, with a smile that could light up the world. Her nurturing nature made everyone in her presence feel taken care of and, most certainly, well fed. Even if Kristie wasn't eating, she was making sure everyone else was!
She had a special gift with kids and if she ever disappeared from a family gathering, she could probably be found with her many nieces, nephews, and small cousins collecting rocks or wildflowers. She was the very best aunty and friend and kids gravitated towards her playful warmth.
Kristie will be greatly missed by her parents, Lonnie and Lorie Hoffman; her children, Dawson (Mikayla) and Brooklynne Burgess; her sisters, Nichole(Doug) Marrazzo, and Jennifer (Owen) Mason; and her nieces and nephews, Marina, Mesina, Melina, and Doug Marrazzo and Nash and Harper Mason; along with her grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends. She will be lovingly remembered by her former husband, Brett Burgess and her sweet canine companion, Porter who never left her side during her last hours.
This is all such a small glimpse into her beautiful life, and you could not meet Kristie without her touching your own life in some special way. She will be so profoundly missed by everyone that loved her in this world. May she rest easy until we can all meet again.
A Service will he held for Kristie on July 8, 2024, from 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm at Grace Lutheran Church, 9907 114 St NW, Edmonton, AB, followed by a Celebration of Life gathering at the Beaumont Community Centre, 5204 50 Ave, Beaumont, AB, from 4:30 pm - 8:00 pm.
