Jeanne G. Thompson

Jeanne G. Thompson, age 88, of Palmyra, Pennsylvania passed away on Monday, December 16, 2024. She was married for 51 years to the late John T. Thompson, who passed away in December 2010. Jeanne is survived by her children, Deborah A. (FL), Jeanne L. (CT), Sandra M. (PA), sisters-in-law June Gillon and Donna Brown along with cherished nieces and beloved nephews. Jeanne was born on February 25, 1936 in Philadelphia, PA. She was the daughter of the late Francis Gillon and Alice DeLacy Gillon. She was preceded in death by her brother Francis M. (Franny) Gillon, sister Margarete (Margie) Naimoli and younger twin brother John P. (Jack) Gillon. Jeanne was a 1954 graduate of West Catholic Girls' High School, Philadelphia, PA. Prior to moving to Palmyra she was a devoted 38 year parishioner of St. Luke's Catholic Church, Barefoot Bay, FL. Jeanne had a love of life and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She volunteered at the Indian River County Humane Society and Sebastian River Hospital. Jeanne was a member of the Barefoot Bay Irish Club and enjoyed Zumba classes. In her work life she was employed by Bell Telephone, Neshaminy School District, Chester County Hospital and Sebastian River Hospital (FL). An 11:00 am funeral mass will be celebrated Saturday, January 4, 2025 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church 300 W. Pine St., Palmyra, PA 17078 with a lunch following. A private interment will be at holy Cross Cemetery, Philadelphia at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Dementia Society of America, 188 N. mains St., Doylestown, PA 18901.
