With a heavy heart, we announce the passing of Walter Gerard Stevens, a devoted husband and loving father & grandfather, on November 10, 2022. He died peacefully at home in Leander, Texas at the age of 83.
Walter’s life began humbly as an only child raised by his mother in Lewiston, Maine. In high school, he met the love of his life in Jeannine Bosse, whom he later married and built a life over the next 60 years until her passing in 2019. He was the beloved father of Scott Stevens (wife, Christine) and Michele Nelson as well as the cherished grandfather of Kimberly Patton (husband, Andrew), Michael Stevens, Spencer Nelson, Christopher Stevens, Caitlyn Nelson, Autumn Stevens, Skylar Stevens, Madison Stevens, Robert Stevens, Lance Stevens, and Vonna Stevens.
Walter was a devout Catholic with a deep faith in a compassionate God. He will be best remembered for his charitable spirit and longing to help others, most notably his 70 year devotion to the mission of the Boy Scouts of America. He truly enjoyed time with family and, later in life, particularly cherished vacation getaways with his wife.
Funeral services for Walter will be held on December 15th at 11am at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Cedar Park, Texas.
