Jaycee Michael Reed Crossland passed away on October 10, 2022. He was born in Round Rock, Texas on May 9, 2007 and was a resident of Liberty Hill, Texas. His passing leaves an enormous void in our hearts. Memories of him and his joys in life will be cherished forever.
A sophomore at Liberty Hill High School, Jaycee aspired to become a designer of video games. He loved cars, music and playing guitar. He loved his family and was always there to lend a helping hand. Jaycee was a member of ROTC and was admired by his coworkers at the Liberty Hill Pop Up Market. He loved to work and strived to ensure his efforts made a difference in the lives of others. Jaycee loved people, and he always had a story to tell. He was a treasured mem-ber of his family and his community.
Classic cars and hot rods held a special place in his heart. Fascinated from the young age of two, Jaycee was kicking tires and advising if they were road worthy. He could tell you the make and model of any car he saw, even if it was speeding down the road. He dreamed of restoring non running vehicles to make them road worthy again. His passion, excitement, and enthusiasm for all makes & models of vehicles was contagious.
Jaycee is survived by his parents, William and Amanda Crossland of Liberty Hill and Felicia Crossland of Austin; sisters, Kaylynn Crossland and Harper Kenney; brothers Reed Brooks Crossland, Blake and Aaron Dungca; grandparents, Kelli and Dean Peters of Liberty Hill, Debo-rah and Allen Patterson and Carole and Todd Schneeberger of Lockhart; aunts, Callie McGarey of Austin, Odyssey Messer and Messina Avants; uncle, Tyler McGarey of Round Rock; great grandparent Sandra Jones of Georgetown; as well as many other family members and friends.
Jaycee was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Billy Wayne Crossland and Michael Avants; grandmother Ima Jean Crossland; his great grandfather, Lawrence “Larry” Jones.
While we will never understand why he left so soon, we know he is seeing clearly, surrounded in love by many of his grandparents, and in a better place. There are no words to describe the pain and void he leaves behind. We will all miss him dearly.
In lieu of flowers, we know Jaycee would want donations made in his name to a visual impairment organization or research project of your choosing. The family has included some recommendations below:
