Christine was born on December 8, 1946, in Albany, New York. She was dearly loved and truly one of a kind. Christine was admired for her beauty, strength, amazing sense of style and true grace. Her kind, caring and generous spirit was felt by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
After many years of raising her children, Christine was lucky to find her true career passion in Interior Design. Her distinct sense of style and fashion came naturally. She worked for Ethan Allen as a design consultant for the last sixteen years and cherished her many friendships that she made there. Christine considered all of her clients like family. She took great pride and joy working alongside of them. She was recognized for her many creative designs. Christine’s endless energy, hard work and dedication was admired by all.
Christine’s other passion was her animals which mirrored her compassionate nature. Her home was a haven for her cherished stray cats and dogs. Christine also enjoyed traveling and delighted in good food and wine. She was extremely proud of her Austrian heritage. She enjoyed spending time with her friends and cherished her many friendships but what she most treasured was being surrounded by her beloved family.
Christine was preceded in death by her parents, Frank Bartke and Alva Bartke.
She is survived by her six children:
JD Powell Heath, Tammy Thomas, Alva Doyle, Amy Weeks, Cari Smithson, Casi Davis, four sons-in-law, seventeen grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, one sister, one stepsister, nieces and nephews.
A private celebration of Christine’s life will be held on September 14, 2024. In lieu of flowers, donations, may be made to Tampa Bay SPCA in her honor. SPCA Tampa Bay | Non-Profit Animal Shelter
Christine will be remembered for her enduring love, her radiant presence and the profound impact she made on all who knew her.
