Tough, sweet, and smart, Tammy was a mentor and friend, one of the best I could have asked for as a new nurse. My deepest sympathies to all who lost her.

I worked with Tammy on 11N at Vanderbilt long ago.  We were good friends.  We have stayed friends via Facebook.  I am devastated by the loss your family has suffered. 
 I pray that God comforts your family and puts peace in your hearts.



Tammy and I went to nursing school together and she was my “study buddy”.  We spent so many hours together and she was one of the sweetest nurses I’ve ever know to this very day.  She exuded authentic compassion.  We lost touch along the way but reconnected over Facebook.  I was sooooo proud of her for going back for her FNP!  I came down to Water Valley once or twice during school and was so enamored of the beautiful landscape and fully understood why she loved her family homestead.   I’m just so sad to know she’s gone but if ever there was there was an angel, it would be a Tammy.   Rest in sweet peace.  

Tammy was a wonderful person and just exuded positivity and love.  She was a teacher to me earlier this year and welcomed me in to her clinic with open arms.  I cannot say enough how grateful I was for her kindness and generosity.   She will be sorely missed.  I am so very sorry for the family's loss.

       A GOOD name is better than precious ointment ; and the day of death than the day of one’s birth.
        Each time we were with Tammy, we saw kindness, caring and love. She leaves that legacy with you and we know you will make her proud. Take comfort in knowing that farther along we’ll know all about it and understand why. Live the rest of your life in the sunshine. Your  mom would want that for you and so do we. My husband and I thought Tammy hung the moon. She was by far the best primary care we’ve ever had. She was so kind and took the time to listen to you. Sometimes I would just call to talk. So sorry to lose her. She will be missed. To know her was to love her.

I am so very sorry for your loss. Tammy was so kind to me while growing up in Santa Fe. We rode the same school bus. The whole Kelley family were extremely nice.

Keith and Levi,

When someone as wonderful as Tammy is taken from this world, it is only because Heaven needed another angel.  She earned her wings and her halo by being an amazing person to everyone she encountered.  

She was such a positive influence in my life and career.  I sent her an email in August 2014 to tell her what she meant to me as a nurse.  I had just started back to nursing school because of her influence and was tasked to write a paper about someone who had positively influenced my nursing career.  The lyrics from the song "For Good" from the musical "Wicked" were quoted:
  
            “I’ve heard it said
            That people come into our lives for a reason
            Bringing something we must learn
            And we are led
            To those who help us most to grow
            If we let them
            And we help them in return”
            “Because I knew you
            I have been changed 
            For Good”

Tammy was  my charge nurse and leader.   Getting to know her, I soon learned she was experienced, professional and approachable.  She earned my respect by professionally responding to my questions.  She probably knew the answers, but challenged me to critically think by asking patient related, disease related, and or drug related questions.  Her approach enabled me to arrive at solutions to those questions, and taught me to critically think about our patient population.  Her technique taught me to resolve specific patient issues, and "grew me up" for the challenges nurses face.  She influenced me without intimidation and helped  to build my confidence.  Tammy changed me "For Good".  

It is my heart's desire to pass the torch of influence Tammy taught me.  She has inspired a legacy of nurses as an inheritance to her extraordinary ability to impart her knowledge and vision to others. 

I am truly thankful for the privilege of knowing Tammy and earning her friendship!

Work with Tammy at General Electric she was a joy to work with. We had great conversations about how good God had been in our lives. Sorry for your loss.

Tammy was my first cousin. Her father and my mother were brother and sister.  I’ve known Tammy her whole life but we hadn’t seen each other for several years. When she opened her walk-in clinic, I began to go to her. I can’t tell you how kind and wonderful she was to me. I had just gotten over two knee replacements in 2019.   Being down and out she always made me feel better. 
We had a lot of catching up to do and I’m so sad we won’t be able to finish those stories. I hope that I can sit down with Levi and catch up with great memories we shared.

I had the absolute pleasure of knowing and working with Tammy for over 11 years at Vanderbilt Medical Center.  She was truly a bright spot in both her coworkers and patients lives.  Always putting others first and showing kindness at every turn. My heart is so heavy knowing she is not with us any longer.  My words are not able to fully express how truly wonderful this beautiful lady in every way will be missed or what she meant to all of us.
