Carol "June" Clayton

June was born in Lawrenceburg, TN on September 26, 1934 to Tasso and Mamie (Brewer) Gobble. She was the fourth of nine children.

In 1956, she married Enoch Madison (E.M) Clayton. Their marriage lasted 52 years, until he passed away in 2009. They had three children, Judy, Jerry, and Linda.

June was preceded in death by her parents Mamie and Tasso Gobble, brothers Buford and Buddy Gobble, sisters Earlean Brewer, Kathleen McDonald, Edna Belew, her daughters, Judy Clayton and Linda Foster and her beloved husband, E.M. Clayton.

She is survived by her son Jerry Clayton of Lawrenceburg, three sisters, Jewell Farris, Jo Lester, and Faye Howell, son-in-law, Morris Foster, Grandchildren, Tiffany Christianson and Christopher Foster, 3 Great Grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Thank you to her special caregivers: Alice Steele, Cindi Walker, Patricia Kelley, Andrea Gamble, Trish Reese, Gayla Lord, Tina Garcia, and Cathy Tenison.

Serving as honorary pallbearers: Larry Farris, Greg Lochner, David McDonald, Dusty McDonald, Terry Lester, and Ricky Belew.

Visitation will be held at Pettus-Turnbo Funeral Home on Sunday, March 17, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

The Funeral Service will be held at Pettus-Turnbo Funeral Home on Monday, March 18, 2024 beginning at 12:00 p.m. Morris Foster will be officiating.

Interment will be held at John Lay Cemetery.
