Yvonne L. McClain passed away March 23, 2016. She was born October 23, 1946 in Brooklyn, New York. In 1952 she moved to Las Vegas with her family and was a graduate of Rancho High School. She danced professionally as “Jasmine Gamal” and was the owner of A-Z Dance from 1975 until she closed the studio in 2008. Her dance groups included the Al As Har Dancers and Golden Tappers. While dancing was her passion, she was an advocate for her community, serving as President of the Consumers’ League and making a bid for the North Las Vegas City Council in the 1970’s. Yvonne is survived by her loving and beloved husband, Sam; sons Jon (Hee-Jin) of Las Vegas and Tony (Kourtney) of Waco; grandchildren Devon, Justin, and Mark.
