William M. Stewart

William M. Stewart, 77, went to meet his Heavenly Father on Sunday, May 15, 2011 at 11:15am while a patient at Summerlin Hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada. Born in LaFollette, Tennessee on February 15, 1934, he was the son of Samuel P. and Flora E. (Carey) Stewart. He was a member of Saint Andrew Lutheran Church. He joined the U.S. Marine Corps as a Private and rose to the rank of CWO-4 before retiring from The Corps after 22 years of dedicated service.

He is survived by his wife, Michiko Y. Stewart of Summerlin, Las Vegas, Nevada. Other surviving family members are sister, June Wood of Las Vegas, Nevada; sister, Betty Hunter of Charlotte, North Carolina; brother and sister-in-law Robert and Betty Stewart of Richmond, Virginia. Nieces include Lisa Johenning of Richmond, Virginia, Kathleen Quinn of Portland, Oregon, Donna Haley of Charlotte, North Carolina and Linda Trosan of Galway, New York. Nephews include James Rogers of Tampa, Florida and Michael Stewart of St. Petersburg, Florida.

Graveside Service will be conducted at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery on Wednesday, May 25, 2011 at 12:40pm
