Wallie Ruth Tidwell

She was born May 20th,1935 in Tempe Arizona. Her parents were Wallace and Ruth Filger.

She married Lt. Robert (Bob) Tidwell USAF in October 1957. They met and married in Tempe, AZ while he was stationed at Williams AFB. They were married for 54 happy years. Bob was an officer in the Air Force and she loved the life that being married to the Air Force provided for her and her three sons. Wallie enjoyed staying home with her children while moving to multiple states and overseas, loved family gatherings, entertaining for holidays, western dancing, painting, decorating, a good potluck, and bingo. She was a friend to anyone who met her and understood the challenges that came with being a part of the fighter pilot community. She was a military spouse who supported other military spouses through celebrations and tragedies.

Wallie Ruth is preceded in death by her husband, Lt.Col Robert “Buddha” (Bob) Tidwell USAF (Ret) and brother, Russell Lee (Rusty) Filger, She is survived by her sons Robert Tidwell Jr, Richard Tidwell and Randall Tidwell, Suzanne Tidwell, daughter in law. Sisters, Barbara Jean Corbin and Patty Jo Allsbrook. Grandchildren Capt. David Tidwell, M.D. USAF, Lauren Christensen and her husband Kyle Christensen, and Connor Tidwell. She also is survived by Kane Tidwell, her great grandson, and nieces Stacy Allsbrook-Huisman and her family Col Chip Huisman USAF(Ret), Erik (16) and Abby (14), Alicia Cathey and her family Bill Cathey and Jayden (16) and Paula Harris. Cousins Kim Rahlfs, and Lisa Momberg.

A private service will be held at the Boulder City Veterans Memorial. In lieu of flowers, please hug your parents, family or loved ones and tell them what they mean to you.
