Vincenzo, commonly known as Gino, was born on October 16th, 1943 to Giuseppe Mauro and Salvatrice Antinoro in Mussomeli, Italy. He grew up with 8 older brothers and sisters: Salvatrice, Gaetana, Stefano, Giuseppina, Giuseppe, Alfonso, Mario, and Filomena.
He moved to California in 1967. While visiting Sicily, he found his soul mate at the age of 25 and married Grazia Eleonora Roccaro of Canicattì on October 31st, 1969. They returned to California where they had 3 boys: Giuseppe Giovanni Mauro, Claudio Gino Mauro and Salvatore Marcello Mauro.
In California, Vincenzo worked as a machinist for the Aerospace Industry and ended his career there as a quality control supervising engineer. In 1992 he moved his family to Las Vegas, and with his wife Nora, opened a family operated Italian restaurant called Nora’s Cuisine.
Vincenzo is survived by: his wife of 54 years Nora Mauro; sons: Giovanni (Naomi) Mauro, Claudio (Jeanine) Mauro, and Marcello (Morgan) Mauro; grandchildren: Eleonora, Vincenzo, Kenneth, Isabella, Amelia, Julia, Gino, Olivia, Francesca, Evan, and Luciano; and sisters: Giuseppina Piazza and Filomena DiVincenzo.
