Our loving mother, wife and sister Susan Elda Vallone was born on July 3, 1952, in Park City, Utah to Ken and Elda Smith. She graduated in 1970 from Skyline High School in Salt Lake City. In 1971, she married the love of her life, Joseph Vallone. They were happily married for 53 years. They have two daughters, Stephanie and Amy, both teachers in CCSD. In 1987, they moved to Las Vegas. Susan worked for many years at both the Stardust Hotel and the MGM Grand in the accounting departments. She loved her family, friends, and crocheting in her spare time. She often would crochet enough hats for each of the students in her daughter Amy's third grade class. Susan had a loving and giving spirit. She was a shy person, but to those who knew her well, she was funny and loved a good laugh. Susan is preceded in death by both her parents, brothers Allen and Kevin, and brother-in-law Ronald. She is survived by her husband Joseph and daughters Stephanie and Amy of Las Vegas; sisters Diane (Todd) Bowen, JoAnn (James) Green, and brother Ed (Lisa) Smith of Salt Lake City; brother Dan Smith (Michele Pecarovich) of Washington; brother-in-law Dave Vallone and sister-in-law Pam Anderson of Salt Lake City. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends. A graveside service is being held for family and close invited friends. The service will be held at Palm Mortuary on 6701 N Jones Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89131, at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 7, 2024. Luncheon to follow. We love you Susan and will miss you every day until we are reunited in Heaven. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Susan's memory to the American Cancer Society.
