Stephanie Hines, of Las Vegas, passed away Feb. 23, 2011, in Duarte, Calif. She grew up in Pittsburg and eventually became a beauty salon owner until she met Ed in 1982 and relocated to Hawaii, where they lived for 15 years, where Stephanie worked as a jewelry and watch buyer. A Las Vegas resident since 1997, Stephanie was employed by MGM Resorts since 1998 and most recently as a store manager of Watch Boutique at the MGM Grand. She was preceded in death by her father, Walton Woolsey Schmitt. Stephanie is survived by her husband, of 28 years, Ed Hines; mother, Katharine Schmitt of Las Vegas; and three cats, Maxey Bear, Coco Puff and Mia. Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 5, at Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Donations can be made to the Nevada Cancer Institute.
