It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved brother, uncle and dear friend, Stanley Leonard "Skip" Perkins. Skip, 75, passed away Jan. 21, 2016 in Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 2, 1939, in California. He attended Columbia College in Los Angeles, where he also taught broadcasting school and video editing engineering. During his lifetime, he worked at ACME Film Labs, Vidtronics (Technicolor), A.M.E./All Post and Vidfilm Technicolor. He also worked on the Lawrence Welk and Hee Haw Shows. He had previously served as vice president of the Las Vegas Repeater Association. He held an amateur radio license and enjoyed Saturday breakfasts at the Egg and I with his friends. He is a retired member of the Editor's Guild, Local 700, a life member of the American Radio Relay League and the Society of Motion Pictures and Television Engineers and was a member of the Audio Engineering Society. Skip married the love of his life, Rosemary Heath on Jan. 4, 1969. They shared a wonderful love of 45 years until her passing on July 21, 2014. Skip is survived by his sister, Danielle Wilkowski of Vacaville, Calif.; brother, David Perkins of San Jose, Calif.; longtime friends, Elsie Stephens of Las Vegas, and Mike and Jayne Rhames of Pacific Palisades, Calif.; and his treasured cats, Molly and Princess. There will be a celebration of Skip's life at 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 26, at Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. A light reception will follow.
