Stan was born on October 18, 1951 at United States Army Hospital in Camp Gordon, Georgia. His parents were Stanley (Jack) and Cornelia Florence Laird. Stan was raised in Georgia, Ohio, California and Nevada. Stan was raised with three siblings. He had an older brother Harold and two younger sisters Carol and Debbie. Stan had an inborn appreciation for the order in the family, allowing for the oldest members to be the most respected and to take on the most responsibility. For Stan, this was a natural order of life, one he gladly embraced. Stan attended Elko High School and while he enjoyed most of his classes his favorite class was shop. While growing up, some of his best friends were "Milo" and Robert Mitchell. Later in life, he became friends with Norman Lorenco, Bob Adams and Roy Robinson just to name a few. An objective and conscientious individual, Stan reveled in the security of his family. On July 13, 1991 Stan exchanged wedding vows with Linda Perez Luna at the Community Lutheran Church of Las Vegas, Nevada. One of Stan's most endearing qualities was his uncanny ability to remember important dates and anniversaries, and his unending enthusiasm for organizing a celebration for his family and friends. Stan was ever watchful of his children. Stan was blessed with five children, one son Kevin and four daughters Lora, Angie, Alina and Marjolijn. He was also blessed with six grandchildren, Brandon, Raina, Bryce, Chase, Skye, Briana, and Mason. Stan passed away on June 14, 2013 at Summerlin Hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada. He is survived by his spouse Linda Laird, his former spouse Iva Kamm, his mother Cornelia Laird; two sisters Debbie Helton and Carol White; his children Lora Snyder, Angela Laird, Alina McDevitt, Marjolijn Luna and Kevin Laird; six grandchildren Brandon, Raina, Bryce, Chase Skye, Briana and Mason. Stan is also survived by his son-in-law Mike Snyder, brothers-in-law Eddie, Manny, Richard, Jesse, Chuck, Walt and Gary; his sisters-in-law Heather and Gloria, and many nieces and nephews. Services were held at Palm Northwest Mortuary and Cemetery in Las Vegas, Nevada. Stan was laid to rest at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City, Nevada.
