Scott J. MacDonald, M.D.

Scott J. MacDonald, M.D., age 66, passed away on October 30, 2018 at UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles after a brief illness. He was born in Barre, Vermont on 11/10/1951. He attended Spaulding High School, Barre, VT graduating in 1969. Scott attended the University of Vermont obtaining his undergraduate bachelors in 1973; he then proceeded on to earn his Doctorate in Medicine from the same University in 1977. He completed his medical internship, residency and cardiology fellowships in Massachusetts. He first practiced as a cardiologist in Melrose/ Wakefield Massachusetts from 1982 to 1986. He and his wife then moved to Las Vegas, Nevada where he practiced as a Cardiologist from 1987 to 2016, when he retired. In his spare time, he liked to travel overseas and RV through the Southwest with his wife and friends. He is survived by his wife of 41years, Donna MacDonald, their beloved Shih tzus, cousins in New Hampshire, his wife’s siblings and their children, as well as friends and colleagues. He will be dearly missed by all. A Celebration of Life will be held in his honor on Saturday, November 10, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Palm Mortuary – South Jones, 1600 S. Jones Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89146 Donations can be made in his honor to the charity of your choice, preferably to a charity that involves an heart association or a shelter for animals.
